TRIDUO PASCUAL
Lent is the season in our Church where we prepare for the celebration of the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord. Lent lasts 40 days. It's a time of a joyful opportunity to convert our hearts to the Lord by the traditional Lenten practices: fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. Lenten season ends with the Holy Triduum when we celebrate the most important mysteries of our faith. Jesus dies on the cross for us, and resurrects on the third day, because He loves us with such great love that we can't imagine, opening the door of eternal life for us and giving us a new hope.

HOLY THURSDAY
On the night before Jesus was arrested, He wanted to celebrate the Passover with his disciples. When they were at the table He got up, wrapped a towel around his waist and washed the feet of his disciples. He, the master, did a servant's job to teach us to love one's another as He loves us. After that, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and passed it to his disciples saying, "Take this all of you and eat it, this is my body which will be given up for you." In the same way he took the cup, gave thanks, and passed it to his disciples saying, "Take this all of you and drink of it, this is the cup of the new covenant, which will be poured out for you and for all for the forgiveness of sin. Do this in memory of me." Jesus left us a great gift in the Eucharist. Jesus is truly present in the bread and wine, and he ordered us to do the same to commemorate his sacrifice for us. In our Church we have the Mass this day at 7:00 p.m.

GOOD FRIDAY
On Good Friday we commemorate the death of Jesus. That's why there is no Mass in any Church around the world. We pray with the meditation of the Way of the Cross and the Liturgy for Good Friday. In our parish the Outdoor Way of the Cross is at Noon followed by the Liturgy of Good Friday with Veneration of the Cross and Reception of Communion. In the evening, we traditionally pray with the Procession of Silence and the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows to meditate on the sorrow of Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother also.

EASTER VIGIL
Easter Vigil is the culmination of the celebration of the greatest mysteries of our faith. On the third day after his death, Jesus was risen in glory to live for all eternity with the Father, and all those who want to receive him. The celebration of the Vigil generally starts at nightfall with the Rite of Light: a bonfire, representing the Light of Christ, outside of the Church. We light the Paschal Candle and share this light by lighting the small candles that we carry with us and with the rest of the community. It follows the Easter Proclamation (Exsultet) and the readings of the Word, proclaiming the love of God and His saving plan in the history of humankind. Later we sing the Glory, joining the angels in the joy of the Resurrected Christ. We welcome the new catechumens and candidates in the life of the Church who are going to receive the sacraments of initiation. We procced then to the celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the love of Christ poured out in our hearts. We are invited to His table. He is waiting for us. Sacraments of Initiation:
La Cuaresma es la temporada en nuestra Iglesia cuando nos preparamos para la celebración de la Pasión y la Resurrección de nuestro Señor. La Cuaresma dura 40 días. Es un tiempo de oportunidad alegre para convertir nuestros corazones al Señor con las prácticas tradicionales de Cuaresma: ayuno, oración y limosna. La estación de Cuaresma termina con el Santo Triduo donde celebramos los misterios más importantes de nuestra fe. Jesús muere en la cruz por nosotros, porque nos ama con un amor que no somos capaces de imaginar, y resucita al tercer día, abriendo así las puertas de la vida eterna para nosotros y dándonos una nueva esperanza.

JUEVES SANTO
La noche en que fue arrestado, Jesús quiso celebrar la Pascua con sus discípulos. Cuando estaban a la mesa se levantó, envolvió una toalla en su cintura y lavó los pies de sus discípulos. El, el maestro, hizo el trabajo de un sirviente, para enseñarnos que debemos amarnos unos a otros como Él nos ama. Después de eso, tomó pan, dió gracias, lo partió, y dijo, "Tomen y coman todos de él, porque esto es mi cuerpo que será entregado por ustedes." De la misma manera tomó el cáliz, dió gracias, y lo pasó a sus discípulos diciendo, "Toman y beban todos de él, porque este es el cáliz de mi sangre, sangre de la nueva alianza, que será derramada por ustedes y por todos para el perdón de los pecados. Hagan esto en memoria mía." Jesús nos dejó un gran regalo en la Eucaristía. El está verdaderamente presente en el pan y el vino, y nos pidió hacer lo mismo para conmemorar su sacrificio por nosotros. En nuestra Iglesia tenemos la Misa este día a las 7:00 p.m.

VIERNES SANTO
En el Viernes Santo conmemoramos la muerte de Jesús. Es por eso por lo que no hay Misa en ninguna Iglesia en todo el mundo. Oramos con la meditación del Via Crucis y la Liturgia para el Viernes Santo. En nuestra parroquia el Via Crucis al Aire Libre será al Mediodía seguido por la Liturgia del Viernes Santo con la Veneración de la Cruz y la Recepción de la Comunión. En la noche, tradicionalmente rezamos con la Procesión del Silencio y el Rosario de los Siete Dolores para meditar en el sufrimiento de María, Madre de Jesús, y Madre nuestra.

VIGILIA PASCUAL
La Vigilia Pascual es la culminación de la celebración de los misterios más grandes de nuestra fe. Al tercer día después de su muerte Jesús resucitó glorioso, y vive eternamente junto al Padre, y en todo aquel que lo quiera recibir. La celebración de la Vigilia comienza generalmente al anochecer con el Rito de la Luz: una fogata, representando la Luz de Cristo, afuera de la Iglesia, encendemos el Cirio Pascual, y compartimos esta luz encendiendo pequeñas velas que llevamos con el resto de la comunidad. Continua con el Pregón Pascual y la lectura de la Palabra, proclamando el amor de Dios y su plan salvador en la historia de la humanidad. Más tarde cantamos el Gloria, acompañando a los ángeles en la alegría de Cristo Resucitado. Damos la bienvenida a los nuevos catecúmenos y candidatos en la vida de la Iglesia que van a recibir sus sacramentos de iniciación. Entonces procedemos con la celebración de la Liturgia de la Eucaristía, el amor de Cristo derramado en nuestros corazones. Estamos invitados a Su mesa. Él está esperando por nosotros.
