The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary will be celebrated this Friday, August 15th with two Masses, one in English at noon, and another Mass at 7 pm bilingual. The feast of Our Lady of Urkupiña, Patroness of Bolivia, will also be celebrated during the 7 pm Mass.

La Solemnidad de la Asunción de la Virgen será este viernes 15 de agosto con dos Misas, una en inglés al mediodía, y otra bilingüe a las 7 pm. La fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Urkupiña, patrona de Bolivia, será celebrada también durante la Misa de las 7 pm. Todos son bienvenidos.
MARY, MOTHER OF GOD AND OUR MOTHER
MARIA, MADRE DE DIOS Y MADRE NUESTRA
Ahí tienes a tu Hijo, Ahí tienes a tu Madre (Jn 19:25-27)
Desde el principio de la Iglesia naciente, Maria compartió el dolor y las alegrías de los primeros cristianos. Finalmente, la Virgen Inmaculada, preservada inmune de toda mancha de pecado original, terminado el curso de su vida en la tierra, fue asunta en cuerpo y alma a la gloria del cielo (Dogma de la Asunción de la Virgen CIC 966), y enaltecida por Dios como Reina del universo (Ap 12:1)
La Santísima Virgen es honrada con razón por la Iglesia con una devoción especial. Esta devoción, aunque del todo singular, es esencialmente diferente del culto de adoración que se da a Jesús, el Verbo encarnado, y encuentra su expresión en las fiestas litúrgicas dedicadas a la Madre de Dios, y en la oración mariana, como el Santo Rosario, "síntesis de todo el Evangelio"
Behold your son, Behold your Mother. (Jn 19:25-27).
Since the beginning of the newborn Church, Mary shared in the pain and joy of the first Christians. Finally, the Immaculate Virgin, preserved from original sin, and at the end of her life in this world, was taken up, body and soul to the glory of heaven (Dogma of the Assumption of Mary CCC 966), and exalted by God as Queen of the Universe (Rev 12:1).
The Blessed Virgin is justly honored by the Church with a special devotion. This special devotion, although unique, is differs essencially from the adoration which is give to Jesus, and finds its expression in the liturgical celebrations dedicated to the Mother of God, and in the Marian prayer, like the Rosary, "synthesis of the whole Gospel."
